If you’re dragging yourself through the week and thinking of the weekends, fret not because the Merdeka public holiday is just around the corner! Previously, we’ve blogged about escaping the hustles and bustles, away from the city at Carpe Diem Orchard Home and LAX Hotel and it was rather well received by you readers. So this time, if you’re looking to spend the weekend in the city, this one’s for you.
Located a few minutes away from Kuala Lumpur’s central public transportation hub, KL Sentral, Prescott Hotel has been serving guests since 2014. In terms of accessibility, the 126-roomed hotel is strategically established along the main road of KL Sentral, and that means a 3-minute car ride from KL Sentral will bring you right to the lobby of Prescott Hotel. Within the vicinity is Brickfields. Dubbed as KL’s Little India, sample authentic Indian food and also local coffee shops along Jalan Tun Sambathan.
Speaking of accessibility, there’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel. How convenient is that! For those self-driving guests, free parking is provided on site too!
Whether you’re travelling solo or going on a vacation with the family, the rooms here cater to your needs. Choose from twin single or double beds, king or queen sized beds and as a bonus, you might also score yourself a great view of the city.
Packed with the essentials, every room is equipped with TV, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, and also a safe deposit box. Comes standard with every room is complimentary Internet access to keep you connected for work and leisure.
With rates starting from RM120 per night, we think it’s a steal. Great accessibility, basic amenities and comfy air-conditioned rooms, consider this 3-star hotel an underrated place to stay in the city for your next staycation.

All in all, we think Prescott is a great place for a short staycation. Despite not having a swimming pool or a bath tub, KL has so much more to offer. Go soak up the sun, go on a food trail or do the touristy things like visiting the nearby National Museum and the Kuala Lumpur train station housed within a colonial building. If you need some inspiration to move around town, check out our previous write-up on using the newly built MRT system, oBike (a bike sharing service in Malaysia) and GoCar here!
As excited as you are, we’re looking forward to the holidays and at the mean time, start planning ahead. That’s not all! From October to November, we will be giving away free stays, courtesy of Prescott Hotel. So sit back, relax and check back for updates real soon.
