Family-friendly Things to do in KL for FREE!

School holidays are just around the corner, hence, you’ve got a couple of days left to plan some fun-filled activities for the family. We’ve put together some of the best things you could do in Kuala Lumpur for FREE! Save big bucks while you have fun with the family indulging in these activities:

1. Visiting a public park

The KLCC Park does not only boost the beauty of the Petronas Twin Towers through its touch of greenery, but it also has facilities like children’s playground, public children’s swimming pool, jogging track, waterfalls, fountains and more. It’s a place where there’s something for everyone. One of its main attractions is the Lake Symphony’s fountain water show which takes place at noon and night. The evening show will surely impress you through its colourful lights, beautiful dancing fountain and, upbeat music.

2. Conquering a hiking trail

There are many spectacular hiking trails catered to different needs. If you’re going with the kids, it’s best to pick a trail that could be easily conquered by little feet. Bukit Kiara would be a good hike for beginners. You’ll just have to watch out for a few steep inclines, but nevertheless are well paved and maintained. Lush greenery and chirping birds would most certainly put you and your family in the right mood.

3. Visiting a monumental waterfall

If you need a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, look no further than Kanching Falls. This waterfall is located just 30 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur. With plenty of picnic spots, it provides an awesome setting for a perfect weekend with the family.

4. Learning about Kuala Lumpur

If you’re more of an indoorsy person, the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery would be an excellent pick. This small museum provides visitors with an opportunity to learn about the history of KL, in an engaging and informative manner. Sounds like a great place to get to know about the capital of Malaysia, particularly during the Merdeka month.

P.S. You’ll need to pay an RM5 entrance fee which is also a voucher you could utilise at the cafe or gift shop.
